What started as an obsession to collect cute teapots and great teas, soon turned into SnooTeas.

Snooty Tea Auntea, as I affectionately like to call her, began as a character for a blog I began when I joined a ten month long Advanced Diploma course on Tea Sciences. The curriculum included everything one would want to know about the pretty leaf. From soil nutrition, clones, irrigation techniques, to tea tasting and blending. An overall, well-rounded course, more so for a beginner who knew squat about it all.

However, midway through the course, Snooty Tea Auntea came to life on Substack with a mission. To info dump all that I learned and more because I rabbit holed, as a research fiend would.

The world of Tea is simply too beautiful to gatekeep.

Post the course, I went on my own little journey across North Bengal, Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland to meet some experimental farmers, amazing teachers, passionate distributors, and lunatic tea connoissuers. Pardon the french, but you’ll have to be a little crazy to become a connoissuer. Those couple of months travelling only etched my desire to share tea with the world on a stone.

And now, here we are.

SnooTeas came to be to give you the teas that pass the Snooty Auntea standards.
